Welding defects are affecting welding process performance and longevity of weld. Having a good understanding of welding defects and their causes can help to remedy and to ensure higher-quality and longer lasting welds.  After detection of welding defects, an evaluation has to be carried out to determine the severity and the appropriate action to be taken.
